ELMUMY at International Conferences: Exploring Trustworthy AI in Medicine
Dr. Iryna Lishchuk from Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) represented the ELMUMY project at two international conferences, contributing to discussions on the ethical and legal dimensions of AI in medical decision-making.
In August, Iryna participated in the 30th World Congress of the World Association for Medical Law (WAML), held from 5–7 August 2026 in Antwerp, Belgium. She presented the ELMUMY poster titled “Trustworthy AI in Medicine: What It Means and What Is Technically Feasible.”
The participation provided an opportunity to showcase ELMUMY’s work at an international forum bringing together experts in medical law, healthcare, ethics and related fields, and to contribute to the broader discussion surrounding the responsible use of AI in medicine.
In September, Iryna represented ELMUMY at the 10th Conference of the European Association of Health Law (EAHL), held from 9–11 September 2026 in Uppsala, Sweden. There, she delivered the presentation “O91 – Use of AI in Medical Decision-Making: Is Trustworthy AI Sufficient to Satisfy the Ethics Principle of Disclosure?”
Both contributions highlight ELMUMY’s engagement with the ethical and legal considerations surrounding the use of AI in healthcare, complementing the project’s scientific and technological research and supporting the development and application of trustworthy AI approaches in medicine.
