The Proteomics Core Facility has reached a major milestone that reflects both the rapid expansion of its capabilities and the dedication of the scientists driving its workflows forward. Dr. Julie Courraud, together with Dr. Paraskevi Karousi, successfully led and completed the processing of 200 proteomics bone marrow cell samples - the largest dataset generated since the facility was established in May 2023. For a core operating for less than two years, this accomplishment underscores the robustness, scalability, and maturity of the pipelines developed in-house. Beyond its size, this dataset carries significant scientific impact.
The original ELMUMY project proposal outlined ambitious goals for deep proteomic profiling; the completion of such a large sample batch already exceeds the initial expectations of the project and marks an important step forward for the consortium. This would not have been possible without the long-term vision and amazing efforts and dedication of the clinical team of Alexandra Hospital. Prof. Stathis Kastritis and Mrs. Christine-Ivy Liacos have invested for years to build a unique biobank and database, essential in ELMUMY's achievements.
